About the work
Shedding explores the moment of release — the figure partially obscured by a veil as it moves away from the body.
I was interested in the movement of the fabric and the tension between concealing and revealing. The veil shifts from something that hides the figure to something being actively released.
I want the viewer to notice that transition — the gesture of the hand, the movement of the fabric and the figure beginning to emerge. There is vulnerability in the image, but also a quiet sense of resolve.
