About the work
"All Consuming" is a portrait of artistic obsession. The figure ingests pure pigment, drenched and saturated, literalising the state I enter when painting. Becoming utterly consumed, where time collapses and nothing exists but the canvas and I.
I painted it to counter the grey that often surrounds daily life. This is a deliberate rejection of traditional, polite artwork. Rendered in high-chroma oil paint with a surreal concept, it demands attention.
I want the viewer to notice the tension between ecstasy and excess, beauty and compulsion. It is visceral, original and confrontational, created not to blend in but to dominate.
It is intended as an intriguing contemporary statement piece, created to hold a room, to be loved for its energy and appreciated for its craft.
