About the work

Rinse and Repeat is a self-portrait made in the reflection of a kitchen window. It's a place of routine and repetition.
The water, dirt, fly-screen, lighting and reflections disrupt any sense of a clear or definitive self-image. An unremarkable moment of looking out a window becomes a study on presence and isolation. The banality of the setting is intentional. Kitchens are spaces where much of life happens by routine. Meals are made, dishes are washed, rinse and repeat.
