About the work
This self-portrait explores confidence, individuality and the playful glamour of summer. Wearing oversized sunglasses and a knowing smile, I present myself with a sense of humour, attitude and self-assurance. The reflective glasses conceal my eyes, adding a layer of mystery while inviting the viewer to consider what lies beyond the surface.
The vibrant background and stylised palms evoke a sun-drenched, tropical atmosphere, while bold colour and strong sunlight create a contemporary, almost cinematic quality. Through this self-portrait, I wanted to capture not simply my likeness, but a moment of confidence and freedom—celebrating personality, character and the joy of being unapologetically myself.
